What started as themed lesson packs for our own family adventures was just the beginning. Guided by a passion for meaningful learning, our vision expanded into educational group travel events, then global experiences, and now a growing community of families who believe that learning should be filled with wonder, purpose, and joy.
Hi, I’m Karen Nelson—homeschool mom, award-winning educational travel events planner, and founder of Destination Learning Adventures.
For more than a decade, I have had the joy of planning everything from intimate family workshops to luxury cruises and international learning tours. But no matter the size or setting, the heart of it has always been the same: helping families reconnect through joyful, curiosity-driven learning.
I created this community out of a deep desire to give families more—more wonder, more meaningful connection, and more opportunities to make childhood unforgettable. I know how hard it can be to balance real life with real learning, which is why everything we offer is designed to be flexible, faith-friendly, and filled with purpose.
